MOT Test Backlog in Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland MOT Centres currently only have a few dates left this Summer.

An increase of around 15,000 test applications in the first 3 months of 2019 has created this backlog. Test centres are considering offering Sundays tests to try reducing waiting times.

Checking today the earliest date Ballymena can currently offer is September 7th, Mallusk 29th August and Larne 24th August.

PSNI have stated NO grace period will be given to vehicles without MOT due to this backlog.

If your car is due MOT in September or October it is advised to get your MOT date sorted ASAP. You can book this online via the government website https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/services/book-motvehicle-test-online
